… We may as well excel.
It was announced recently had a famous cartoonist had died of dementia-destitute. A man, who in his lifetime, might have seen millions of dollars pass through his hands.
In response to this news I commented that, “money isn’t everything – but it is 𝘰𝘯𝘦 thing. We may as well excel.” To that, one Facebook user asked in disgust, “Is nothing sacred!?”
Yes, much 𝘪𝘴 sacred, including money. Manna. Possessions. Stuff. The holy books are filled with discussions concerning the correct use of capital.
So let’s query.
The following seems to be true: Giving is excellent. Giving with grace is sacred. Living within one’s means is excellent. Accumulating money for tithing as well as consumption is sacred. Building a successful business is excellent. Hiring and creating benefits for others is sacred. A lifetime of study will answer the question.
